Ford Explorer brake light comes on when braking?
If you are speaking of the brake light on the dash, you may be low on brake fluid. Just fill the master cylinder with DOT 3 brake fluid, and the light should not come on anymore.
The parking brake light comes on when you engage the parking brake. Pull the parking brake release handle. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- the brake light also comes on if the brake fluid level in the brake master cylinder is low ( in your engine compartment )
ABS = Anti-Lock Brake System If you have this light come on while not braking, it most likely means there is a problem with the electronic controls in your brakes. If it comes on while you are braking, it means the Anti-Lock has kicked in. It should only do that however, if you are braking really hard.
It could be a fuse , a sensor , or some other problem with the anti-lock braking system ( as long as the " brake " light in your dash is not on , you still have " normal " braking ) it means air brake system and it has something to do with your brakes. unhook the battery cable and let it reset and that will tell you for sure if you have something…

I have the same problem, been to the garage 4 times now. They take out the brake light bulb and replace it then its fine for a few days then it starts again! It is so annoying every time you brake you get this beep then a warning message saying that the brake light is faulty. They dont even know how to fix it!! I believe its bad wiring!! Sorry i can't help!

These can include low brake fluid which may be surging from braking to the brake pad replacement sensors (if equipped) engaging. The only definitive way to diagnose the light is to have the vehicle scanned for trouble codes.
