Its most likely your fuel system, your engine isn't getting all the fuel it needs.. if its not that, then I would bet on electrical system, alternator or battery. Id start out by cleaning out the fuel system since it wont cost you anything (except maybe fuel additives), and putting on a battery charger, and see where you are from there. After that, I would check the alternator at autozone cause they will do it for free. Otherwise its probably going to be your fuel pump not putting out enough fuel.
-- Also want to check your air filter to make sure your engine is getting all the proper air from the intake.

There are several reasons why a car will start and then bog down when the accelerator is pushed. Some of the reasons could be plugs, fuel pump, or the catalytic converter.

If a 1997 Ford Mustang with 3.8 v6 starts and then dies, it could be glitch with the anti-theft system. There could also be an issue with the ignition connections or low fuel pressure.
Take your foot off the accelerator and steer in the direction of the skid
