What if your 2001 Mercedes s430 starts off slow when you press on the accelerator?

I have a 2000 Mercedes S430 I recently replace the left rear shocks and the accelerator won't work when you press it down. the engine starts but with the accelerator pressed down the car will not move. the engine sound will not change.
Please I need help to have an idea what I'm dealing with thanks.
