Did you mean mph (miles per hour) or mpg (miles per gallon)? Hybrids will not have as high of a top speed as other cars, solely due to the fact that most hybrids on the market have smaller engines than gasoline only powered cars. This is to save fuel. However, if two vehicles were the same exactly, except one had an electric motor in it as well (making it a hybrid) it would have a higher top speed than the normal one because the electric motor also makes extra power.

As far as miles per gallon, hybrids tend to get better fuel economy because during acceleration (which takes a lot of fuel) hybrids use their electric motor which uses no gas. They also turn off their gas engines when they are coasting and turns them back on when you approach a stop automatically. They also have smaller gasoline engines than normal cars because the electric motor provides extra power. Usually they are slightly more aerodynamic than normal cars, examples of this can be seen in the Honda Insight and Toyota Prius. For fuel economy specifications visit Fuel Economy link below

What is the main difference between gasoline-power and hybrid cars?

The main difference is that hybrid cars are run by electric motors and gasoline power cars by petroleum powered engines. Both autos are gas powered. The difference comes in the fact that hybrids charge a large battery with the gas powered engine.

What is the difference between gasoline powered cars and hybrid cars?

HYBRID CARS- Hybrids are cars that run on electricity. Although hybrid cars help with your spending money on gas, they're not that fast or powerful, most of them.GASOLINE POWERED CARS- They're the cars you usually see on the street and run on gas. They're faster than hybrids, but you'll use up more money with them, unless they're fuel efficient. Some cars are mixtures of both, like the Toyota Prius and the Honda Insight.

The advantages of cars powered by natural gas are: They create a lot of energy with not much gas.

How do hybrids generate electricity?

They run a gas powered motor which charges a battery.

Do hybrids perform as well as gas cars?

Hybrids perform better than gas cars. Most hybrids get at least 40 MPG (some get as much as 60 MPG) and are actually no more expensive to repair than a gas car. Seems worth it to me!

Where are some gas stations for charging electric cars and hybrid cars?

There are no refueling stations for electric cars, as none are in production this is not an issue. The range of an electric car is still too short to make them usable for most of the planet. Hybrids are normal gas powered autos that convert power to electric before it moves.
