During the battle of the Atlantic the primary goal of the German Navy (Kriegsmarine) and the German Air Force (Luftwaffe) was to disrupt and block the build-up of equipment and supplies for the allies. This in turn would inhibit the preparations being made by the British Isles to invade occupied Europe.
The intent of Nazi Germany was to block Great Brittan from receiving badly need supplies. This was carried out by Unterseeboot Kriegskunst, or Submarine Warfare.
Germany's goal during the Battle of Britain was to degrade its air defenses and to demoralize the population. It actually served as a rallying point for the nation.
Air superiority in preperation to invade Britain.
To starve the people of Britain into surrender.

Czechoslovakia was given to Germany to pacify Adolph Hitler. The leaders of France and Britain were trying to avoid another European war.
Poland. Germany had previously agreed in the Munich Agreement that if they were allowed to annex Sudetenland of Czechoslovakia they would not invade anywhere else. The Agreement was signed by Germany, Italy, Britain and France. Italy was allied with Germany so Britain and France declared war when Hitler invaded Poland in direct violation of the agreement.
They were trying to turn Mexico against America.
Britain & France were trying to Appease Hitler. The truth was, hindsight 20/20, is that they should have invaded when Hitler marched into the Rhineland, 1935, I think. What has to be remembered is that the 'Great War' was still fresh in the memory of the people at this time, 20 years before, and obviously a repitition of this was, it was thought for obvious reasons, worth trying to avoid at all costs. I am not trying to say appeasement was right, not at all, but I am trying to say that the reasons for it were well intentioned. But then the road to hell is paved.... as they say.
"The Germany First Policy" was defeating Germany first. Churchill had been lobbying FDR for years trying to get the US into the war to save Britain from collapse (Churchill's "Britain stands alone" speech). Russia was holding it's own, but Britain was an island and on the verge of losing the war against Germany. After Pearl Harbor, the American people wanted to defeat Japan FIRST. Japan had attacked America...Germany did not. But thanks to Churchill's hard lobbying efforts, FDR had agreed to "save Europe first (read save Britain)", which was translated by the press and the American public into simply "defeating Germany first." The direct results of this "policy" was the sacrifice of the US servicemen (Army, Navy, Marine Corps) in the Philippines and outlying regions (amounting to the largest US surrenders in US history in 1942). They received no reinforcements, due to the "Germany first policy", and surrendered in the Pacific.
US merchant vessels trying to ferry supplies to Britain across the Atlantic Ocean, and Germany's submarines trying to sink them before they reached their distination. That was the "Battle of the Atlantic."
Germany was trying to invade England. However, they lost the huge air battle known as the Battle of Britain. The German Luftwaffe was in shambles, and without air superiority over Britain, they knew that they would have no chance in successfully invading Britain.
He was trying to obtain the throne of Great Britain for himself.
The Battle of Britain was an air battle fought over southern England in the late summer of 1940 with the Luftwaffe trying to gain air superiority over the RAF before the planned land invasion of the UK could take place. German aircraft losses were so high that Hitler abandoned his planned invasion

the battle of bulge ? in the allied army and stop the allies from advancing in germany....
Relations between Britain and Germany grew worse from 1900-1904 because at the time both were trying to colonize countries in Africa. Britain were building up their navy and Germany viewed this as a threat so they did the same.
After Germany invaded Poland, Britain and France declared war on Germany, starting the Second World War. No much happened for a bit after that, so it was called the Phoney War in Britain. But then Germany invaded France, and Belgium and the Netherlands as well, comprehensively defeating Britain and France, leading to the withdrawal and evacuation at Dunkirk. At this point Germany had basically complete control of mainland Europe, and Britain, which refused to surrender, was the natural next target for Hitler. The Germans knew that if the Royal Air Force was at full strength, it would be able to easily prevent the German invasion. So, the German Luftwaffe set about to cripple the RAF, attacking the Air bases and trying to destroy the British planes. At this point, the Battle of Britain, between the RAF and the Luftwaffe, had begun.
trying to avoid war by appeasing Germany.

If you're trying to reach Germany from the US an example of a cruise from Cape Liberty, New Jersey to Hamburg, Germany would be a 16-day cruise for USD1649.00. If you're trying to reach Germany from Great Britain in style, there are 14-day cruises for USD10,476.00.
I think it was D-Day, since they were trying to get back France and Belgium. After that, they were headed for Germany.
