In most counties and states, being cited for going more than 15 miles per hour will result in an additional fine per mile or five miles. Each county has it's own rules, but this is typical of most. Since original fines start at around 100 to 150, this can become very expensive.
Depends on where you get pulled over at. Most places around here (Michigan) have the following fee schedule for 16-25 MPH over the speed limit:
16-25 MPH Over: $150 w/ 4 points ($190 in a school zone w/ 4 points or construction zone w/ 5 points)
16-25 MPH Over on an expressway: $170 w/ 3 points ($260 in a construction zone w/ 5 points)
4 points
4 points
3 points in Florida. See page 16 of your Florida Driver's Handbook.
2 points - depending on where you live. In michigan, 1-3 is 1pt.
it all depends. you could get a ticket, or get a warning. but getting cited for speeding is exagerating. Unless, you go over the speed limit in a heavily transited area for pedestrians or in a school zone. Maybe the cop wont be so nice.
In California, speeding 10 mph over the posted speed limit will result in a ticket for about $250. You may also have to go to traffic school.
You can go to traffic school if it is your first offence. After that, you will have to pay a fine.
Yes. It sounds strange but there is a rule that if the other traffic is speeding and you pose a hazzard, you can be sited for it. The rule is to go as fast as it is safe. It sounds like a bunch of #$%#$ to me but it is true.
it varies
Excessive speeding is the driving beyond the neighborhood or the city's speed limit for a certain area. For example, if the speed limit is 50mph and someone drives at 51mph, that is speeding.
In the state of Illinois, the fine for a speeding ticket will depend on your location and how fast you were over the limit. 35 miles per hour over the limit will result in a fine of $95. If it was in a school zone, the fine is $150. In a work zone it can be as high as $375.
The speed limit is exactly that - the speed limit. While a reasonable excess of speed might be overlooked when overtaking another vehicle, there is no guarantee. You can be pulled over and cited for speeding, still.
