Sounds like you have some small leaks in the bag(s). They commonly appear at the folds so sometimes (depending on how it is parked) the leaks are sealed/hidden by these folds. Spray some soapy water on them, if you see bubbles they should be replaced. Also be sure to spray at the bottom of the drier where it attaches to the compressor--air can escape from there and cause intermittent air to the bags. I just replaced everything but the height sensors on my '89----there is a small '0' ring in there that must be seated correctly.
Have to determine what is causing noise - could be a bad compressor Have to determine what is causing noise - could be a bad compressor Have to determine what is causing noise - could be a bad compressor
The system is very dirty from the first compressor that went out....... If you just replaced the a/c compressor without changing the expansion tube, the accumulator and flushing out the complete system then it will never work correctly......
The ac could be causing the problem. Turn the ac off, and watch the compressor clutch to see if it is not engaged. If it is then the compressor or clutch could be bogging the engine down.
the asiest way to see if it is working is to start the car, turn on the a/c, watch your compressor. you should hear a click than the center of the compressor pully will start rotating, if that doesnt happen you could be low in gas in your system, you can always fill it just to check
does the fan work? is the system charged with the refrigerant?
Yes
The compressor or it's pulley may be locked up or there may be something not aligned properly.
The problem could be the relay that goes to the compressor this could be faulted out causing the compressor to run constantly. However if this isn't the case then a quick check of the fuse may also resolve the problem.
When you replace the a/c compressor did you also change out the receiver drier as well ? To recharge the a/c system the cost would be in the area of around $125.00 dollars if it was done by a professional a/c shop.
the a/c clutch is loose and is shorting out. the compressor and clutch must be replaced
It could be that the outdoor fan is not turning causing the compressor to overheat and shut down on overload or your outdoor unit may need to be hosed off. You could have a faulty run capacitor. If you do need a new compressor you have to consider the age of your unit, the need to replace the indoor unit, and your financial situation. The cost of a compressor is over 500.00 in my area, then you have the labor, refrigerant recovery, and misc charges. It could bring the total of the job to 1000.00. Complete change out could run between 5000 and 8000 depending on size of equipment and geographical locale.
first off you need to determine that i s the cause of your problem,, could be the clutch, hi lo switch, temperature control unit, or broken wire or fuse, if you determine the compressor internally destructed, the entire system refrigerant side is toast, everything along with the compressor needs replaced, plus add a high side filter, new receiver drier, orfice tube evaporator, condenser, and clean out the hoses unless it has a muffler, then they require it be replaced
