Why is my hamster going in circles It share its cage with 1 other hamster and its cage is 7 by 12. Why Everything seems normal on my hamster. HELP?

Hamsters aren't supposed to share cages if there syrians(dwarf hamsters can share a cage very happily). Your hamsters could kill eachother; hamster's nature is to roam alone. However, if you have one male hamster, and one female hamster, this may not apply, as the female can, well, you know, with the male and before you know it.... pop goes the BABIES. Be prepared.

Does running help hamsters?

Well, hamsters need exercise, but they usually do that by running on a wheel if you have one. But if you have a guinea pig they have to run around outside, not in a wheel or a ball because it could cause back problems. Your welcome!

Can Russian dwarf hamsters jump?

No because of the birth defect given by the mother that made him a dwarf, his exteujal cord will not cooperate with his feet, or his hip so he wont jump without help. They do have one advantage of being able to bite .2947 times harder than regular Russian Hamsters. Hope I Helped :) -Science_Geek44

Can you put a dwarf hamster with a regular hamster?

Other than the hamster resembling a miniature guinea pig, they have nothing in common. A hamster is a rodent whose native habitat is a desert and the guinea pig is not a rodent. Hamsters are able to hold food in their two front paws, but guinea pigs can't do this. Hamsters actually have more individual toes than guinea pigs do. You have to periodically trim guinea pig nails, whereas you do not have to do that with hamsters.

Is woodlands pickles cottage for guinea pigs?

To clarify, you probably did not read on. It says For gerbils, mice, and hamsters only. Sorry if this is harsh to you. Just trying to help :)

What type of hamsters are there?

they are syrian Syrian hamsters make good family pets. They are easy to look after and with plenty of care and attention become very tame. Hamsters are ideally suited to both children and adults, but are nocturnal and spend most of the day sleeping, becoming active in the evening and at night. Syrian hamsters are naturally solitary animals and if well cared for are much happier alone; their territorial nature will cause fights if kept in a pair. If you do wish to keep more than one hamster together you should consider dwarf hamsters, rats or gerbils who naturally live in colonies. Syrian hamsters should be fed a hamster specific mix and can be supplemented with fruit and vegetables to offer variety to your hamster's diet. You should provide plenty of toys for your Syrian hamster to play with, due to their nocturnal nature they will needs lots of sources of entertainment whilst you are asleep. Syrian hamsters on average live for 2 - 2.5 years. they are Chinese Chinese dwarf hamsters tend to be slightly thinner than Russian hamsters and have a slightly longer tail than most other hamsters. They are very easy to handle, are great climbers and cling to your fingers with their tiny paws but they are fast and therefore not suitable for young children. Male Chinese hamsters often live happily in pairs or groups, but the females can be intolerant of each other and may be better living individually. Dwarf hamsters should be fed a hamster specific mix and can be supplemented with fruit and vegetables to offer variety to your hamsters' diet. You should provide plenty of toys for your hamsters' to play with, this will help to keep them happy and healthy. Chinese dwarf hamsters live for about 2.5-3 years. and more

Do Russian hamsters bite?

All the animals that I can think of bite--except for goldfish. Russian Dwarf hammies DO bite, but it's in their natural instinct. You can tame this out of them, though. It will take a lot of time and patience. I am saying this as an experienced dwarf owner. Play with the hammiw everyday, DO NOT wake it up while its sleeping, and feed it food and treats by hand.yes, Russian dwarf do bite, i had the same question and had my hamster answer it. Dwarf Hamsters are more 'Nippy' and more territorial of their cages than Syrian, if you scare you hamster or take it away from its food bowl it may bite if you want to try this it might help: put a towel on your hands then place the hamster on you hands with the towel on it, make it trust you again by , talking nicely to it and it should start to trust you after a while....... hope this works for everybody!!!! no fancy Russian dwarf hamsters do not bite but most other breeds of hamsters do

Where do all hamsters come from?

Hamsters are originally from South America After doing a report with my 2nd grade daughter we learned that it depends on the breed, but the come mostly from Asia. In particular Russia, China, Turkey and a lot of mention of Syria. The first domesticated hamsters were Syrian hamsters.

What if the male is in the cage when your female hamster has babies?

It depends on the species. The female may be aggressive towards the male and the male will stay away or they'll fight, but with Russian dwarf hamsters the father will help.
