One of those plastic syphons with the squeezer in the middle, should be able to suck the excess from the filler tube.

yeah it sounds weird, but replace the fluid with either mercon III or dextron II atf and it works fine.
Believe it or not, the factory manual calls for Automatic transmission fluid GM Dextron II for the 4 and 5 speed manual transmissions. Cheers Malcolm
