Radio: There is no code to enter. Either you have a blown fuse or two, or your factory radio may have been damaged during the battery install. The negative lead should always be the first off and the last on. Interior lighting: Either a fuse, the bulb, or the door switch may be acting up. The door switch can be easily removed & cleaned or replaced and is a common maintenance item on the Contour/Mystique. They typically need cleaning about every 70k miles or so, more if your climate causes electrical components to corrode.

I have a 98 mystique, and when the check engine light comes on, I simply disconnect the positive battery terminal for a couple of minutes. When I replace it, the check engine light is cleared. It resets the computer.
