My doyon experience

I have been working for the company a couple months now. The pay is decent for the work. The food is solid. You have your typical good chefs and your typical bad chefs. They feed you twice a day and three if you bring your lunch to your post. They offer a good 401k package so you cant beat that. One thing you are not going to do is spend money while you are there. Its just no need when they provide pretty much everything. The rooms are wonderful. Big full size bed with own bathroom and tv and kitchen. You cant beat that anywhere around Carrizo. And they have maid services every day.

Now with every positive there is negative. To start with, they will ask you in the interview do you have reliable transportation. You will probably think that's from getting from your home city to Carrizo springs. That is somewhat true but once you get there, they don't tell you that you will use your own vehicle getting from work to your post. Some of the post are as close at 26 minutes and the others are as far as 45 minutes. Now remember that these are ranches so your driving your Toyota celica or your Honda civic is a no go. You better invest in a big vehicle that can handle the road. You don't get periderm for your gas. You will get a lot of flat tires and a lot of damage to your vehicle. I have even heard of two vehicles being flooded cause of the water levels on the roads. I have heard of vehicles being stuck in the mud for days. When its all said and done, they still expect you to be at work. The problem can be you work from 6-6 so the people who work the first shift, they really have no time to get anything fixed so they are pretty much out of luck. Hopefully they have a spare vehicle. You are not allowed to have your family spend the night . They fell to understand that you get lonely out here and even though it is a job, your time is your time. For the holidays, there will be no family allowed to spend the night. They must go get a hotel which cost 120 dollars a night in an oil town like carizzo springs. I can understand the random women but when its your family or your spouse or girlfriend that's that is noted, then there has to be some type of common ground. Also there is no drinking in your room. So the ones who want to get a drink they have to go into town and take the chance of getting pulled over for DUI which has happen already to some people. The company doesn't care about your welfare, only that you don't runi their image. You would think that let the employees drink in their room instead of risking a dui or somebody dying but that is none of doyon's concerns. You have to to watch out for the people you work with. With their being over 80 something employees. There is a lot of telling and snitching so please be careful. Everybody is trying to get the upper hand and move up in position. You have your director down vic sauced. He is an hard ass. Little guy with a napoleon complex. Doesn't say to much but he can unleash his wrath on you. Pro doyon he is. Watch out for sgt Estrada, he is another guy that is pro doyon and will try to move up on the ranks at your expense if you know what I mean. There is no women or anybody allowed to stay over night. Also if you are old and you complain a lot about your post assignment. You will get whatever post you want. You have some guys who don't leave their post because they complain about the workload . Then you got the other crybabies who just don't like working hard and if you complain enough. You will get your way and get an assigned post. The weight room is crap. They have one machine there that is broke and has been broke for several months so that pretty much kills your morale. The company is in a bind with anardarko which makes us a subcontractor of them so there is a lot of kiss ass right now to make money and to get more contracts so when things roll down hill, they really roll down hill. Overall in a nut shell, if you thinking about working for doyon universal in Carrizo springs, just for the simple fact that you should have to use your own vehicle while you at work instead of a company shuttle or something, its not worth it. The money you make you will be going to fixing your vehicle and handling the maintenance on it every week.
