It appears unlikely the oil spill will affect the eastern coast of Florida. I am not saying that it is impossible, as there is no such thing as 100% certainty with oil spill forecasts. The oil has in the past 68 days not entered the loop current. This has kept the oil in the gulf. Oil in time degrades and disperses, to the point were the concentration is nearly undetectable.

I forget which day in April it was, but the Bp gasoline company had a major oil spill on the coast of Mexico. It will cost 3 billion dollars or more to fix. Even though the sea creatures matter much more no one seems to be paying attention to them... it is very sad. It already hit Florida's beautiful beaches.
On August 9, 2004 hurricane Charley hit Florida.
