I have a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix and the two Serpinetine belts broke. I put a belt on without putting on the second supercharger belt on and I am driving it now until I get the other belt. If you look at the routing of the belt all of the normal systems run without the second belt.
yes it can al you have to do is remove the supercharger and remove the supercharger belt, even if you dont wanna remove the supercharger u can just remove the supercharger belt and it will be unfunctional, why would you want to remove it anyways there awsome
The supercharger has a single separate serpentine belt than the one for the accessories (alternator, a/c compressor, water pump) . The superchrager belt is a 6 rib 72" effective length. The accessories belt is a 6 rib 93.5" belt.
The Buick that was supercharged was called the Ultra. On the engine there is another unit mounted on top of the engine. It is driven by a separate belt from the drive shaft. The engine without the supercharger has only one serpentine belt.
I have a '92 PA Ultra. The Ultra has the supercharger. There are two sets of serpentine belts for this configuration.
i need to see the chart on how the belt gose on my supercharger
You must unbolt the engine from the engine mount and jack the engine up to obtain clearance. You must do this for both the alternator/AC belt as well as with the secondary Supercharger belt.
Yes, you can drive without the Supercharger belt for as long as necessary.
A supercharger is belt driven and a turbocharger is exhaust driven
To change the supercharger belt on a 3800 engine, first ensure the vehicle is off and cool. Remove the serpentine belt by loosening the tensioner pulley with a wrench and sliding the belt off. Then, take off the supercharger belt by loosening the tensioner for that belt and removing it from the pulleys. Install the new supercharger belt by routing it according to the belt diagram, ensuring it sits properly in the grooves, and then reapply tension to the tensioner.
I think you mean the Supercharger belt? You cannot drive anywhere without your accessory belt... You can drive as long as you want without your Supercharger belt but be prepared for a substantial loss in power.
do not remove your supercharger belt, the engine is set up to work with supercharger. my belt broke on mine and i was told to replace it before i drive it to much
You don't have to replace the supercharger you will just have no performence power and bad gas milage, but you will not harm the supercharger. Same thing happen to me, year later I replaced my supercharger belt and supercharger was fine.....dont wait get it fixed dont hurt the GTP!!!!!
