Sometimes a tune up can stop this kind of thing in a vehicle. New plugs and plug wires, fuel filter and air filter should do it. PVC valve if needed.
I don't know but I'm still driving my 1995 Ford Explorer going on 16 years now
there is a part on the transmission called the torque convertor solenoid ..intown driving your car is not moving very fast, out of town or freeway driving your creating alot of heat ,the torque convertor solenoid is going out ,soon it will stall intown also as it gets worse.you can have it replaced or you can unplug it and your car will run fine ..the purpose of the solenoid is to downshift your automatic transmission when coming to a stop ..you can try this to be sure it is this part..shift car to neutral as you come to stop if car does not stall then that's your problem.if it does then it is most likely something in your throttle body ,idle control solenoid etc.,
About 4 years. Consider yourself lucky! I'm still driving my 1995 Explorer XLT and I have no plans to change !
when the transmission is not shifting or changing out on a 1.8 jetta
in general, yes
yes it is because your not changing the substance :)
If a Ford Explorer headlights blink on and off after 10 minutes of driving, it is highly probable that there is a short bad overdrive pump. Rest the car and clean the grounds. Also check for loose or broken wires.

When I'm driving my 1995 Ford Explorer I don't make any sudden turns on the steering wheel when I'm driving at a higher speed so I have always managed to keep the dirty side down in the last 15 years
Solenoid pack that's located on your trans mission it for helping your shifting abilites if it cloges up youll have problems shifting even when you driving down the road it will down shift on it on..if it is a 2.0 shoc or a dhoc they are both in the same place on both. that is on the top of the engine there may be a air intake tub over it but that's easy just one nut on the intake. then remove the plug wires ,and the plug to the comp. then remove the four 10mm bolts that hold it down and replace in reverse order. How much did the solenoid pack cost?I believe what your talking about changing is an ignition coil. A solenoid pack has nothing to do with spark plug wires, and is not on the top of the engine. A solenoid pack is a transmission component located on the side of the transmission.
