Either bite the bullet and work for one of these big box carriers like Swift or call around and see if there any smaller outfits that'll work with you. They're not the most common, but they do exist.
I am guessing you are talking about Class A driving which generally refers to trucks. You do usually train and need a special license to drive under class A

You don't have to go to truck driving school to get a CDL license. You can go to your local Department of Driver Safety and pick up the study material and apply to take the test. There is a driving component that you will have to do.

A train 'operator' is commonly called a train 'driver'.. However - they're not actually driving - they just control the speed of the train. The points and rails do the 'driving' !
