As of June 2009. Ford is recalling 1,357 MY 2009 Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator vehicles for failing to comply with the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment." The brake stop lamp switch may be improperly adjusted. This may result in a delay in brake stoplamp illumination when the brake pedal is depressed. In situations of very mild brake application, the brake stoplamps may not illuminate. Delay or loss of brake stoplamp function may increase the risk of a crash. Dealers will adjust the brake stoplamp switch free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on or before July 6, 2009.

The 2000 Lincoln Navigator most likely suffers from the same intermittent odometer problem that has plagued many Ford vehicles (1999 - 2003 F150, F250, F350, Expedition, and Explorer). Lincoln Navigators have also been suspected of having the same problem. It would be helpful if a Navigator owner could confirm that the same problem does exist in the Navigator. iSee the following site for a discussion of the intermittent odometer problem. http://www.odometer-repair.com . I'm another owner confirming same problem. I have a 2001 Lincoln Navigator with same problem.
