That cat might have had an allergic reaction to fleas. My friend who lives up the road has two cats and one of them was allergic to fleas. That cat looked healthy but was licking fur off so you could see skin.His owner took him to the vet and the vet gave her pills to give to the cat.
Now he is not licking off so much fur.
