Heater and ac do not work?
Check the thermostat.
You may smell coolant when the ac is running but a leak in the heater core won't cause the ac not to work.
AC and heater are 2 different systems. The heater works by channeling fluid from your radiator to a heater core usually located under your dash. Heater may not work due to blockage in the line from the radiator or the heater core under your dash may be faulty.
yes it will.
2001 dodge ram 1500 ac and heater flow regulator switch does not work. works only on defrost. How to fix?
did the heater core start leaking? anyway you should have no problem with the air if you bypass the heater core.
They are entirely different systems. One does not control the other. You have a problem in your heater core, heater control, water circulation or hoses.
One reason why an AC heater fan will not work on a Mazda 3 is that the fan is burned out. It will have to be replaced. However, first check to make sure that you have not simply blown a fuse.
Get your local garage to check the heater matrix
1996 Nissan altima heater ac switch will only work on the high 4 won't work on 1 2 3 changed switch still the same thanks for answering?
Heater Blower Resistor
Low refrigerant charge? Bad compressor?
2004 dodge ram ac and heater problem The heater and ac only work when the setting is set to high If it is set to low or medium the heater and or ac do not work. Can anyone help?
The blower motor speed resistor is burned out. That part should be available at your local auto parts store. I believe the resistor is located under the hood, passenger side on the firewall, close to the blower motor. Two small screws hold it to the HVAC box.
Why does your ac and heater fan turn off and on
because ur car is broke
If the AC is Blowing cold and turn off and on, the AC/heater control switch is bad. Replace it on eBay for around fifty dollars. Work great now.
The AC runs to remove moisture from the air inside your vehicle. Moisture causes the fog inside of your windows. The ac runs to remove the moisture and the heater runs to heat the air.
your heater resistor is on its way out ..some are built into the heater motor some on a separate board depending on the make and model of vehicle
Why doesn't my ac work in 1987 Honda Accord when the heater works compressor works and I have no leaks?
two things to check, is the system charged and is the heater mix door working properly
What causes the AC Heater blower on a 1997 Tahoe to work intermittantly Sometimes works great then will shut off and not work for a while?
check the wireing harnesses
check the fuse
Blower fan resistor under glove box...by passenger's feet...!
To find that out you need to take it to a Toyota Dealer for a service.
Anything with a transformer in it will not work on DC because the transformer will draw enough current to blow the fuse (or catch fire) because transformers must always have a changing voltage. A simple heater will work on AC or DC. Appliances with most types of motor will only work on AC.
First check the fuses then check your blower fan then check the blend door and blend door actuator and then the control panel
When operating the heater in a 2000 Toyota Tacoma PreRunner does the AC button have to be off and not pushed in?
The AC switch operates the AC compressor and should have no bearing on your heater function. If your heater is not working properly, you may have a weak thermostat.
What do you check when the ac or the heater in a 1997 eclipse gs does not work any knowledge in troubleshooting this will help?
Possibly a cracked or broken heater core. If the engine is over heating, somethings wrong with the cooling system and that's why your a/c and heat won't work.
Why would the blower not work on a 1989 Oldsmobile Cutlass Sierra windshield when the car is running yet work when the car is set to AC?
Might be a bad heater control
And I though Risister should have been spelled "resistor"
This question needs to be more specific in order to answer it. Are you asking how does the heater work? Or are you asking why is the air warm when the AC is on?
Most likely a failed blower resistor.
It should work with no problems, since the frequency does not affect the work or the iron heater.
have you checked your fuse? If it won't blow out the air it could be your blower motor.
There is a resistor pack operated by the fan switch. It has failed. You need to replace it.
Why would your car heater not work Car radiator giving bubbles but they go away when you turn AC on or when radiator fan turns on?
There is only one thing you can do if your Heater in your car is not working. You will have to take it to the dealership and have them look at it.
You recently smelled a slight burning from your ac vents and the ac stopped working is this a blower motor coolant or do you need to recharge the unit?
sounds like your blower motor went bad, does it work on heater heat.
Of course it affects the air conditioning,,,it also affects the heater. Any time u have a restricted air flow it affects how heater and air conditioning works, for the worse. Engineers have designed the heater/ac system to run on clean air, so therefore your heater/ac systems work faster and better with a clean filter. Not to mention your own physical health by breathing clean air.
Most likely it's the heater control valve. If the heater control valve leaks a little it can allow a small amount of heated engine coolant to circulate through the rear heater core.
Vacuum issue somewhere Vacuum issue somewhere
The heater and the AC are different systems other than the blower, so they normally fail independently. The AC can fail for many reasons, high on the list are low freon (which means there's a leak) and the compressor.
Got this car heater and ac dont work radio dont work could it be fuses and if so how do you know which fuses go where?
look at the fuse panel or owners manuel it should tell you
1988 Ford F150 with no heat 2 hoses at the firewall heater core one hose is hot one hose cold Engine hotter than normal Bad Heater core or bad thermostat Thanks?
heater?AC fan does not go on? Temperature gage does not work.
removal of heater hose from engine to fire wall
The heater core is behind the AC evaporator core. You must remove the panel with the venting on the passenger side. Then you must disconnect the two AC fittings inside the engine firewall. You do not have to remove the AC evaporator core, it will swing somewhat out of the way so that you can get to the heater core. There are several clips and screws holding the heater core in place that must be… Read More
The blower motor resistor pack is bad.
On a 1995 GMC what would cause the air to kick down to your feet when the AC is turned on The heater and vent air work fine on face vents just not the AC?
It sounds like the HVAC control head has a leak or has failed.
Your 1993 achieva is pouring coolant through a drain from an ac line close to the heater core If you bypass the heater core will it fix the problem without harming the ac?
Yes, but you will have no heat. Your heater core is leaking and needs replacing.
It matters if it has ac or not. If it is a non ac vehicle, the hoses and coolant flow from the fitting close to the thermostat housing to the lower heater core tube, then out the upper heater core tube to the fitting on the water pump. If it has ac, the hose from the upper heater core tube connects to the fitting on the radiator.
heater hoses might have been disconected
no indeed it doesnt have anything to do with it. you see the ac heater has diffrent conections in where the theremostat has nothing to do with if u were talking with temperature changes maybe it would.
My heater and ac controls went black yesterday. I found some online advice. One guy said to disconnect the battery. I thought that worth a try. Walla it fixed my problem.
Most likely a blend door issue. Check heatertreater.net for pictures and diagnostic information.
