Helium is a chemical element. It is inert and a gas (at room temperature).

Helium exists in liquid form only at extremely low temperatures.

The boiling point and critical point depend on the isotope of the helium. He-4 boils at 4,2 K and He-3 boils at 3,2 K (1 atm pressure).

At normal pressures helium is never a solid. Solid helium requires a temperature of 1-1.5 K (about −272 °C or −457 °F) and about 25 bar (2.5 MPa) of pressure.
