if while idling the vehicles tahomiter jumps 1 or 2 hundred rpm you have a issue with the fast idle control valve also known as the idle air control valve you can get one at rockauto.com more than likely for about 50 -60 bucks
your alternative would be to clean it out carefully and then reinstall with new gaskets
