Chock the front wheels, place the car kin a gear and jack up the car. Release the handbrake and adjust it by 2 to 3 flats. Apply it to see if the adjustment has been made.
Take out the hand brake and replace it
should be on the end of the cable sheath at the trans. adjusts just like bicycle hand brakes.

Hand brakes are attached to the rear brakes in most vehicles. Start with making sure the rear brakes are in good working order and adjusted. Most vehicles will have a cable adjustment connected with the front cable that leads to the hand brake. Make this cable adjustment after the rear brakes have been inspected and adjusted.
Most likely it is brake light switch adjustment. Right hand side, halfway between brake pedal and brake - you will have to look for the connection, it is above the bar... there is a switch, you can just rotate the nut to loosen/tighten the switch as needed, really very easy once you find it, be careful not to rotate the switch, just the nut.
