I'd check the battery first. Is the battery about 5 years old? Or, has your alternator gone bad? That would drain the battery. If it is neither of those things, then it could be the starter has gone bad, or the selonoid switch has gone bad. Finally, your car may have a neutral safety switch, and if that was bad, then there would be total silence when you turn the key. Although total silence could be one of several things. Finally, you also want to make sure your battery cables are secure and not terribly corroded. That covers most of it although other things could be to blame. You may need a tune-up, or your coil has gone bad. Is the car turning over when you start it? Also, the gas pump could be bad or the gas line frozen. Try spraying a little starter fluid in the carbeurater.
