Honda civic 2003 dashboard light yellow looks like a motor near the oil and battery warning lights has turned on. Could backing the car up with the gas cap open at the gas station have caused this?

Yes it could be that, As stated in your owners manual. But it could be many other things all doing with your emissions. Your car has a 8 yr. 80k warranty on this. If the light goes out with in the same day. After tightening your cap. That was it. If not go to your dealer and get it checked. Because it should be free to you. GOOD LUCK Honda doug.
