You are either referring to a candy called "chocolate bark," or maybe to the bark of the cinnamon tree, which is naturally sweet.

Horses generally eat grass which is found on the ground. They will however dig for food and water or strip bark off of trees if they can't find any grass. They will also lick rocks and soil to ingest minerals, salt, and some vitamins.
Przewalski's eat plants. THey are herbivores. Their diet contains mainly of grass, buds, bark, leaves and fruit. IN zoos, they are fed hay and alfalfa.
Horses can typically eat the bark of Sumac trees with no ill effects and it is not listed as being toxic. However it should be noted that if horses are allowed to strip bark off of trees it can and will kill the trees.
Before the flood everyone were vegetarians!! probably ate what horses eat today.Answer:The very early ancestors of horses such as Condylarth, were a dog-sized, five-toed creature that lived about 75 million years ago during the early Eocene period. These evolved into the predecessor of modern horses (Eohippus) which inhabited the open grasslands. From that time unto this horses have been vegetarians living on a diet composed mainly of grass.
Horses acquire food by foraging; they are herbivores which means they eat vegetation such as grass, weeds, flowers, the bark off trees (generally only when they are really hungry). Domesticated horses (horses that are owned, trained and cared for by humans) are given food by their owners, generally hay (dried grass/weeds/alfalfa) and grain (a mixture of oats, corn, other grains and molasses) on a daily or twice daily basis.
In the wild zebras eat grass, shrubs, twigs, bark, leaves and some wild vegetables. In captivity they are also given hay (the same hay horses are feed) to eat.
