Jeffrey Dahmer was responsible for a series of gruesome murders of 17 young men from 1988 until he was caught on July 22, 1991, in Milwaukee. He would drug them, sometimes torture them and then kill them usually by strangulation. He would then masturbate over the corpse or have sex with the corpse, cut the body up and get rid of the remains. He also kept parts of the bodies including the skulls, which he would clean much like he did with his childhood road kill collection and often refrigerated organs which he would on occasion eat.
Info on Dahmer is abundant. Much can be found on Amazon and/or Bookrags.
Dahmer was one of the worst serial killers in modern history. He drugged, killed, sodomized and cannabalized his victims. Some of them he used for horrible experiments in an attempt to turn them into zombies. His cruelty shocked the world and the press went nuts. Stories such as this sell newspapers.
At autopsy Dahmer's brain was photoed, x-rayed, catscanned and much more. It was then removed from the skull, sliced into sections and examined under microscope and almost every test possible was done with the tissue. Samples were taken and preserved as the rest of the brain in case further study is needed. As with most criminals like Dahmer, it was noted that there were abnormalities to the frontal lobes of the brain. Scientists don't understand the significance of this yet but it is common for violent criminals to have these abnormalities.
I can't find much on this but I do think he may have gone to Utah for a short time. I'm going to keep looking until I find the details.
Jeffrey Dahmer was not really worried about his fingerprints. The way he carried out his crimes, all evidence was kept inside his apartment which means he had almost total control over anything incriminating. There were really no body dumps, he cut up his victims and what he didn't keep or eat was dissolved in acid. Pretty slick. His biggest enemy must have been trying to contain the smell of decomposing flesh. From statements made from the police that were inside his apartment, they said the smell was overwhelming. How he got away with so much for so long defies logic. Before he was arrested, Dahmer had police inside his apartment, and although they said the smell was awful, they did no further investigating. Hindsight is 20/20 and it proved to be true with Dahmer. It all fell into place when he was arrested and they started to carry out body parts. Then the smell made sense.
Jeffrey Dahmer's trial was anticlimatic. There was literally truckloads of physical evidence and Dahmer's confessions. His trial was for the most part a formality. He was sentenced to multiple 'life with no parole' for multiple murders, but it saved him from lethal injection, which in hindsight would have been a waste of taxpayer's money since Dahmer was beaten to death by another inmate. Hear are some youtube videos of the court room http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=14fFJOz2ioM actually, he died 3 years later on nov 28 1994 Jeffrey Dahmer was not at risk for lethal injection or any other form of capitol punishment as Wisconsin did not have the death penalty. The trial itself served as much more than just a mere 'formality'. The purpose for the trial was to determine weather or not Jeff Dahmer fit the criteria of legally insane as set forth by the state of Wisconsin. The burden of proof sits with the defense in such a case. The result of the trial however did not find him to be legally insane by the states definition. He was subsequently sentenced to 975 in prison of which he served only 3 before being murdered by fellow inmate Christopher Scarver.
Jeffrey Dahmer was not abused as a child by his parents, but he was kind of neglected inadvertantly because of his parents relentless fighting. Also, his parents CONSTANT and sometimes viscious fighting IS indirectly a form of abuse, and it effected Jeff very profoundly, his parents were too wrapped up in their affairs to notice what a profound effect it was having on their eldest son, which also made Jeff feel unnoticed. But Jeffrey was sexually molested by a neighbor at a young age after his familly moved to Ohio. Although not abused by his parents, Dahmer was the victim of school bullies. There is more known now about the effects of this type of abuse, but at the time, young Jeffrey was more or less told to 'endure' and hope it would get better. It never did. This must have had devastating consequences on Dahmer as a child. there was never any evidence that Jeff was molested as a child, Jeff himself emphatically denied this claim.
If you mean a bad neighborhood, no. Many people live in rough neighborhoods, have little money, are abused as children, ect., and still do not become serial killers. There is still much to learn about this kind of killer but a deprived childhood and bad neighborhood will not in and of itself be the cause of serial murder. What is known is this. A combination of bad genes, childhood abuse, and unknown factors are responsible for the modern serial killer. And still there are killers that do not fit the mold. Jeffrey Dahmer is a very good example. Dahmer had two parents that loved him, a middle class upbringing, no abuse that he would admit to and still Dahmer was one of the worst serial killers of modern times. Even Dahmer himself was at a loss as to his behaviour. There have been great strides into the minds of serial killers but there is still much to learn from them. There is always the hope that with understanding there will be a way to predict and ultimately prevent all serial murder.

In the related links box below, I posted the information. He is a good example of some of the mysterious aspects of faith. There is no doubt that his crimes were among the most revolting ever to come to light. There is also the possibility that his conversion was a function of his circumstance (he was in prison for life and was murdered by another inmate). But the MUCH more important object lesson here is that people of faith realize that when it comes down to the most fundamental question of salvation or damnation, the deity couldn't care less about comparing one human being to others. He will be merciful as he sees fit, (according to believers) and you may be embracing Dahmer as a fellow saint, given that you are among the chosen. It is also possible that some of Dahmer's victims will be among the damned, again not as a result of their actions or inaction, but as a consequence of what believers understand to be the deity's justice.
