"Ambush" predators lie in wait, often in trees above a known trail. Their (breakfast) victim comes along the trail, and the predator just drops down on them.

Other predators, such as cheetahs, chase their prey.

It depends on the animal.

Jaguars capture their pray by doing this;

The Jaguar preys on more than 80 species. It ambushes rather than chasing its prey, attacking from cover and even leaping into water. The Jaguar uses a method of killing unique among the cat Family. It bites it’s prey between the ears with its canine teeth, piercing the brain.

The Leopard does this; its not only found in Africa but also across Asia. It is found in a range of habitats, from forest to mountains, grasslands to deserts. They are skilled climbers and they carry the prey into the trees from scavengers. It may leave it there for days, returning only when hungry! 🍗

A predator animal hunts its prey by using its senses and skills that it has. The animals that are usually prey have eyes on both the right and left sides of their heads, for an example, rabbits. They have eyes on both sides of their heads so that they can see easily on both sides if the predator is coming. The animals that are predators most of the times have claws, like bears, foxes, wolfs, eagles, owls, etc. These predators use their claws. But some predator animals may not have claws, but they may have a good nose, good ears, or sharp teeth.
