It kills them because it gets in their fur and when they lick it out it kills them.
They will get poisened by the oil when they inhale!
cause the oil is posion and if it gets on their food it could kill them!
the oil killed quite alot of animals especially fish because the got alot of oil in their gills wich they breath through also animals such as sea otters couldn't feed because theire favorite was sea porcupines wich are just like spikey balls that are purple well they couldn't get those since they live on the sea floor it was hard for the sea otters to see and alot of times dried up spikey oil clumps were mistaken for the sea porcupines and sea otters just fed on those
No But people are trying to prevent them from extinction. Causes: oil spills, used for fur and used for oil. No But people are trying to prevent them from extinction. Causes: oil spills, used for fur and used for oil.
As others have written, killer whales and sharks are the biggest threat to sea otters of all sizes if they are in the ocean. The younger sea otters can also be attacked on the water surface by bald eagles. While on land, all sea otters may be eaten by bears and possibly even coyotes.
Sea otters are under threat from pollution (particularly in the form of oil spills), changes/imbalances in the food chain, and the lingering threat of the fur trade, among other factors.
Oil spills contaminate the sea and the fish die along with sea birds.
Oil harms sea otters......if it gets into its fur. The sea otters prey are cats, white sharks, and orcas.
Oil spills can damage many things. One oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico killed a lot of sea life. All the rescued animals were cleaned, but out of around 700 animals they saved, only 200 survived.
Sea otters are endangered because of oil spills, habitation loss, food limitations, disease, fishing gear entrapment and conflict with shellfish fisheries Hope that helps :)
if nothing is done about the oil spills that are damaging the populations of the sea otter then eventually the sea otter population will die off along with the other species caught in the oil spills around the world
