A horse can have as big area for grazing just don't make it too small. I keep my horses in about 1-2 acres and my horse is healthy.
A quarter horse should be kept in a fenced in area big enough for it to be able to run and play around. I would say about as big as a football feild. I would also suggest that you have trees, hay, grass, and plenty of water for them to drink.
Grazing by large herbivores is a major factor determining the structure and species composition of upland ecosystems. The manipulation of grazing regimes by land managers can thus be a powerful tool in the management of upland habitats. To predict the effects of unmanaged, or managed, grazing at a particular site, an understanding is needed of the foraging behaviour, diet selection and intake of the large herbivore species found in the Scottish uplands.
It depends on how big the horse/pony is but, really if it's your horse, you should know!!
The height of the horse doesn't have much bearing on how big the field should be. What counts is the horses health, activity level, lifestyle and the quality of the field. One acre is the bare minimum for one horse that will be grazing in a field, assuming the field is well maintained, if not you need to increase the size. However if the horse is on a restricted diet and is not able to graze then a 100 feet by 60 feet dry-lot set up can and does work just as well as a large field provided the horse has constant access to clean , fresh hay.
how big is the animal??
a great big one
The cinch size will vary from horse to horse, measure the horse where the cinch should be and that'll give you a good idea of what size to get.
Be patient with your horse and hold on tight! Be ready for your horse to jump big, and try not to fall off, or the horse will do it more to get you off to have a run free! Have fun! if you find yourself falling off hold onto the saddle and if the pony stops be ready for a jump :)
Well, the horse's shadow would be as big as the horse at certain times of the day...
Shout and scream until you get one (:
I don't see why not. If a cow is grazing or living in a grassy area where ticks may be, I don't see why they CAN'T get ticks. All animals get ticks.
big fat ladys had babies and made herbivores
