∙ 15y agoRed blood cells are seven microns in diameter. From a SEM photo of red and white blood cells that includes platelets, you can compare their relative sizes. Using this strategy I've estimated platelets are about 2 microns in diameter on average, but their size does vary. You can easily find such a photograph on wikipedia. It's not too scientific but it's the best I got.
