You can buy a devise called a Jeanie Jet and it connects to your water hose. Take the lid off your pump and insert it into the front of the pump going back to the skimmer. You then turn on the water and it should blow out the line and unclog it. What comes out of that line will come out into the skimmer so watch for it.
You really can't. You can put a "skamper ramp" on your pool to help them get out but its hit or miss they'll see it. There is a an ingenious lightweight, net device called Critter Guard that provides a ladder for frogs and other animals to use to climb out of a pool. Visit the Critter Guard Web site at or at Critterguard.net for Purchases and additional information.
It would be easier to replace with a floating skimmer Check poolrite dragonfly

Justin Bieber has a inground pool
have a pool above the ground and tell the kids to not play with kids around the poolyou can jump into the pool and look at themThere is a solution! A new invention that allows frogs to escape from dying in in-ground pools. It is called the Critter Skimmer, and it is a ramp that is attached to the skimmer cover that allows them to crawl out of the pool. It really works. All in-ground pools are designed to push everything into the skimmer, so the frogs will always find their way out. Plus Don't be near a river. Unless it is a above ground pool that you can take downJust replace your existing skimmer cover with the critter skimmer and no more dead frogs! It's amazing. I haven't seen a dead frog in my pool since.go to www.critterskimmer.comAnother option is to use a FrogLog (www.froglog.us) which is a ramp for all kinds of small animals. It works as advertised. The FrogLog is not hidden inside the skimmer so mammals that need to get out quickly before drowning can see the escape route. Frogs and other animals with porous skin need to get out of chlorinated or salt water quickly too. The FrogLog allows for a quick escape. Multiple FroLogs can be used in larger pools. The two devices can also be used together.

Let me say first backwashing is a process for simply ridding the filter of dirt, once you backwash the pressure and cleanness of the filter will begin to collect and store more dirt from the pool, Look at the gauge at the filter remember the pressure or write it down as the pressure goes up the flow of water going back to the pool will go down to the point that very little water will go back into the pool. When the pressure is low the water flow from the filter will be high meaning that the filter is not clogged or dirty.

In order to vacuumn the pool you must first put in the vacuum and the hose. You can siphon the air out of the hose by putting it in front of the return to dispace all air in the hose line. Then turn off the pump. Insert the end of the vacuum line either into the port at the bottom of the skimmer in the pool or remove the skimmer basket and insert it in the bottom of the skimmer. Then after the line is secure, turn on the pump motor. Your vacuum should be ready to use (manually) or run automatically if you have an automatic pool cleaner such as an Aquabug. If you have a slimline skimmer there is a port located just below the skimmer door it is used for the vac hose. After connecting the hose you put your skimmer lid down inside of skimmer and then you can turn on pump. By doing it this way you can let skimmer basket catch all large debries. This saves on having to backwash so much.
