No the PS3 slim like most PS3 Game consoles except the very first models with 4 USB ports will not play PS2 games. There is no quick fix which will allow you to play the games, no discs or software that you can purchase and play the Old PS2 games. However most people find that there are plenty of new PS3 games and the lack of the ability to play the PS2 games has not stopped the PS3 Slim from selling out. The Sony Style USA store has had to limit orders to only 2 to a customer and new orders for both the 120 GB and 250 GB model are again being placed on Backorder due to the overwhelming demand. You don't fix it you replace it if it does not just need the controller setting adjusted under ps3 setting. If the other dual shock 3 controllers work fine it is not the settings

Buy a PS3. It is the only Playstation that reads blue ray discs and the discs are for the PS3 and could not be played on a PS2 if they could be read

If your other games arent working then your ps3 is pretty much dead.

This was a big error with some PS3's which was dispatched. There is no way to fix this, you will need to send it back to your store or contact Sony.

PS3's are way better. Yes you do have to deal with the red ring of death for XBOX360's and it happens like monthly. Some people fix them for 50$ instead of however much it normallly is. (thats why ps3s cost more there better, more money better stuff.) it has blueray and a phone you can use to talk to people while playing online. Ps3 online play is also FREE! and it has the whole web
