Yes throw it away and never look back
A 'spark ignition ' engine is your regular gasoline engine as opposed to a diesel, which is a 'compression ignition' engine
the gap should be .025
There are basically two types of spark ignition engine. They are the diesel spark engines and the petrol spark engines.
if your Honda has a v-tech the igniton control should be on the left side of the engine and if it don't then look on the far right of the engine and it should be where the spark pulgs are.

what are the advantages and disadvantages of s.i engine
A diesel engine has the same internal components and works off of compression ignition, not spark ignition.

spark ignition engine is also known as petrol engine. but in diesel engines the fuel is burnt due to the high compression of air.so there is no need of spark plug
A bad ignition coil will cause your engine not to have any spark. Without any spark the engine cannot start or run.
The most common reason a Honda burns up coils is because other ignition components are worn out. A healthy igntiion system with new factory parts requires about 12,000 volts to fire a spark plug. An engine with worn out spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor, and spark plug wires can require as much or more than 25,000 volts to fire a spark plug. The excess energy required to fire the spark plug has to be generated by the ignition coil and causes it to burn out. Two additionl point. Always use factory Honda ignition component and replace the ignitor when replacing the coil. These parts are not cheap but Honda ignition systems work best and last the longest with Honda parts.
(1) defective spark plug (2) defective ignition wires (3) defective distributor.
