Often through wise investments, if you have capital to invest, one can rise up out of a poor situation. Other times through furthering one's education, one can also secure a better vocation, which oftentimes, though not always, insures the possibility of work in a profession with a higher income. If you go from a biblical perspective, poverty is often described as part of a curse. Example:
Proverbs 28:27 KJV He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse.
Sometimes an inordinate desire to become rich, such as people who desire to become wealthy get rich quick schemes, or those that refuse wise instruction, which can include instruction how to get out of a poor situation, can bring a curse upon themselves.
Examples: Proverbs 28:22 KJV
He that hasteth to be rich hath an evil eye, and considereth not that poverty shall come upon him.
Proverbs 28:22 KJV
Poverty and shame will be unto him that refuse correction.
In situations where the examples in families where the same type of resistance (perhaps through bad life and career decisions) or behaviors or actions that may have influenced or caused some members to lead a life of poverty or to become destitute, is repeated by another member of the family in a later generation where a curse may have been brought upon that family, the Bible describes it as a generational judgement upon that family (sometimes from grandparent or great - grandparent to grandchild), as well as an opportunity for God, who is still patient and merciful, to speak generational blessing into the situation against a poverty curse, to a thousand generations: Examples:
Proverbs 28:18 KJV The Lord is longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation.
Exodus 20:3 KJV...for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments
Psalm 105:6 KJV
He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.
Proverbs 10:22 KJV
The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.
In the New Testament, The Apostle Paul, in his letter to the Galatian church describes Jesus as the redeemer from poverty as a curse, through his ministry of the Crucifixion on The Cross at Cavalry:
Galatians 3:13-14 KJV
Christ hath redeemed us from thecurse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
2 Corinthians 8:9 KJVFor ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became (as) poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.
The BEST way is through education. By getting training in an area or becoming educated a person can earn enough money to leave poverty behind.
poverty is when someone is poor and wealth is when someone is rich.
Baby eels have to fend for themselves; their parents do not raise them.
Absolute poverty would be describing someone who owns nothing. Relative poverty is someone who makes less then a certain amount of money per year, putting them well below the average income level.
The opposite of put down is to build up. To build up is to raise another's self esteem and make them feel better about themselves. A put down makes someone feel worse about themselves.
Poverty can negatively impact self-esteem by limiting access to resources and opportunities, leading to feelings of helplessness and inadequacy. The stress of living in poverty can also contribute to low self-esteem due to the constant struggle to meet basic needs and societal standards. Additionally, societal stigma and discrimination against individuals living in poverty can further erode self-esteem.
They need to work hard... what else :/
NO! But they will vote themselves one anyway .
Not enough to end poverty, yet enough to go to heaven.
They arent "they" are working on making themselves richer.

A result of our Puritan heritage.
It usually means they took a vow in their belief to not be selfish/greedy, not have sexual relations, and obey/deliver. A very strict conviction of themselves for their belief in purity and relevance.
