This is a very touchy issue; first an foremost you must know your union constitution and bylaws. This is no easy task by no means, if the union was elected to office then odds are you are not going to get him out of office prior to election, international will back the elected president. However, if you can provide information that he has not held the membership's best interest in mind and that he has failed the membership as a whole then you may have a chance at appealing to your IP for an early election rather then just removing him. But to answer your question, in truth YES the membership can remove a union president if it the majority will stick together and petition to do so, and depending on your union constitution and bylaws and how well you write your petition. I cannot stress or add enough emphasis on getting the majority to sign the petition to call for an early election and to submit it to the proper people in authority to get this accomplished, as you may be well aware all things with in a union MUST be in writing and there are ALWAYS time limits to everything. best of luck to you all. One thing i know that i would most assuredly add to my petition if it were me is that the union was voted in by the majority and should be represented by a leader that was put into office by majority vote. This meaning that if the union president that you speak of was appointed by an E-board because of the prior president stepping down then it will certainly make it all the easier to get an early election not so much to have the appointed one removed per Se , but request and early election so that your membership can properly be represented by an ELECTED president with majority support verses an appointed president who was put into office by only a few members. Having said that if you are in a right to work State you also have that to add to your letter to the IP or your Vice president, it would NOT be in the best economic nor political best interest of the international union to disappoint or allow the majority to go without elected representation ; even more so if it is at the time of negotiations. I wish you all the very best!

Are elections for members of Congress held on the same day in all states?

Yes, elections for President and for Congressmen in and US Senators are all held on the same day in November. Elections for House members and for one-third of the Senators are held every two years on the same day in every state. (The elections in the middle of the President's term are called "off-year" or "mid-term" elections.) Many people are allowed to vote early by absentee ballots and sometimes at special polling places set up for early voting. If a US Senator vacates his office before his term expires, the state may hold a special election for an interim senator.

How did the members of opposing parties become president and Vice President in the election of 1796?

Before the ratification of the 12th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution in 1804, there were no vice presidential elections. Each elector voted for two people for president, then whoever got the second-highest number of votes was the vice president. Although John Adams' running mate in the 1796 election was Thomas Pinckney of South Carolina, Thomas Jefferson received more votes than Pinckney, making Jefferson the Vice President.

Before 1804, there were no U.S. vice-presidential elections. Each elector cast two votes for president, and whoever came in second became the vice president. How often do elections take place in Ireland?

An Irish parliament's term is 5 years, but an election can happen before that. Not all parliaments run their full term, so elections often happen sooner than that. There were 3 general elections in 18 months in the early 1980s. A presidential term is 7 years and a president can serve two successive terms. If there is no other candidate a president can be elected unopposed, so there is not always a presidential election. Local government elections are fixed at every 5 years, as are elections to the European Parliament.
