How can you bypass the security system on 1999 Bonneville it wont start and the security light is on?
While I am not aware of a way to bypass or circumvent the security system, resetting the system should fix the problem if it was somehow tripped. This can be done by diconnecting the battery (while either positive or negative side will work but I would recomment negative because of less sparks on disconnect) for a period of time (usually 10-12 seconds but I would leave it disconnected for a minute or two).
How do you bypass the pass key II system on a 93 Buick lesabre security light flashes no crank no start?
How do you bypass security on a '99 Mercury Cougar. Security light is flashing. Headlights won't turn on but inside lights will. Car won't turnover.?
The Passlock security system is the problem. Should be recalled. Go here http://newrockies.com/?ap_id=craigpeate for a module to bypass the system completely. The resistor workaround at the key isn't always the only problem. I tried it on my 99 Suburban and it didn't do any better with the resister bypass. You need to eliminate the entire security system. Buy the pro module for $179 plus shipping and save yourself the hassle of dealing with it ever…
Your 1998 Pontiac Bonneville will not start but the security light and the seat belt light stays on what could this be your mechanic has had your car three weeks now?
Are you using a copy key, or the original, the original should have a chip in it to unlock the security, if not a chipped key, the security system will not unlock, Key will have a little black square on one side. Will neeed to have vin# and info to get code from GM to cut new key and program the chip.
