ON MY 96 ACCORD I PULL THE BOOT DOWN (IT HAS A CLIP) THEN TURN THE KNOB COUNTER CLOCK WISE. wHEN YOU GET A NEW ONE YOU JUST SLIP IT ON AND IT SHOULD COME WITH SCREWS TO TIGHTEN IT UP. Jose
