As chickens usually are legally considered undomesticated "barnyard animals", as opposed to dogs and cats and the like, which are considered domesticated, you'll likely have to appear before your zoning council and get the area you're living in re-zoned as a commerical area. As commercial re-zoning may make dwelling in the region illegal (unless you can get the area declared farmland), and most certainly will reduce real estate prices, you're likely to meet with considerable opposition.
