Guess you'll need a relay. Hook it too the battery for 12V.
When 1990 Honda is running cooling fan does not come on but comes on when engine is off and I thermostat and temperature switch changed?"
stop an engine

Your temperature would usually fluctuate. But if your car has over heated then there is a chance it may need changing
I have a 2001 Dodge 3500 that was not getting up to operating temperature. I changed the thermostat and that fixed it. I guess the thermostat was stuck open.
Depending on the engine, the coolant temperature in a Cadillac could be from 180 to 195 degrees. The thermostat can be changed to give a lower or higher temp reading.
You most definately unpluged the sensor wire. It's a single red wired that plugs onto a sensor just passed the thermostat.
have you changed the battery in the thermostat?
You may have the thermostat in backwards. The spring side of the thermostat faces into the engine.
Probably thermostat sticking open , quite common , had mine changed for the same reason - (Helpfull)
No
The thermostat in your car controls the temperature of the fluid entering the heater core. Thermostats have different temperature setting i.e. 195,180 etc. When the rated temperature is approached, the thermostat starts to open up, the fluid path is changed and the temperature of the fluid is held at the rated temperature. If the thermostat opens too soon, or fails to close the heater core will not reach max temperature, and the air from the heater air will be warm, not hot. Also the mechanism that opens the duct door may not work, and the same problem will occur. Also, your core may have a fluid control lever which may not work.
