If you check the information sticker on the end of the drivers door : under " TR " is the transmission code I believe " U " is for the 4R70W automatic transmission and " E " is for the 4R100 automatic transmission . The transmission dipstick or the handle should have the type of Transmission Fluid to use , the 4R70W takes Motorcraft MERCON - V , and the 4R100 takes Motorcraft MERCON according to the owners manual That's the 2 ways I can think of
