You can find new WikiAnswers members by clicking on "Recent site activity" in the blue toolbar on the left-hand side of the page. Where you see "Filter by," click on the "down" arrow to see a choice of options. And then, in the "user type" box, select "New members," and click on "Go." You will be presented with a list of contributions (according to your "Filter by" choice) made by new users.

No, friend requests on WikiAnswers cannot be sent. Generally, people use the search feature in the top right to find members, and keep in contact with them from there.

Send them a greeting on their message board. New users are always grateful for being made to feel welcome.
