How can you fix your ignition switch in your 1995 GMC Sierra if your key won?

This will sound crazy, but I read it on the internet and it works. I sprayed WD40 into the ignition after it locked up on me and I had to tow it home; key would not turn and the wheel was locked in place. Put your key in the ignition and whack it hard with a small two by four. It took three quick hits and I reached over and the key turn as if nothing was ever wrong with it. I thought it was a crazy idea until I tried it. Worked like a charm. Good luck
