You have to have a combination of exercise and a healthy, balanced diet to have a flat stomach and have a healthy weight. Eat in moderation, and work out everyday, even if it's only a little a day. If you keep this up, you'll start to see the difference soon. Just be healthy, and remember, you can't loose weight in only one spot, you lose weight everywhere. It will happen faster if you exercise different parts of your body, not just the tummy.

The sit ups will simply tone your muscles, not actually eliminate the fat around them (at least, not at any rate compared to what proper diet and cardio will do). Learn proper cardio for fat burning, and get on a strict ab diet. At around 8-14% bodyfat (male/female) you'll start looking really cut.

What I did was to quit drinking pop/soda and I did a lot of exercise. I noticed when I quit doing those things I gained some of the weight back.
