pick an hamster that you like you cannot tell if it bites or not if it does is is easy to solve if you basicly just got the hamster leave it in its new cage for a day( its is quite hard to leave it alone but its for the goood) then what you do is but your hand luying flat with treats in it (the hamster will not pick the treats with its teeth it will use its hands) whenit aproches you it will sit on your hand don't strokck it the first Tim then repeat this this time its okey to strock it do htis a few times and put ur hand out with no treats it should come then strock it and there you have it trained to not bite if it dosent work keep repeating the second step until; it does the key to success is to be patiant and be comfortable with it the hamster will not bite unless you have upset it in any way i hope this worked for you it has for me
from the annonomous hamster owner
or another way is to get a male hamster they r much esier to train they r more gentle and kinder so get a male unless u really want a female trust me males r better i got used to my male right away just give your hamster some food by hand for a few days and after it feels a little settled in its cage and a little more used to u than u can stroke your hamster if it lets u than that is a good sign soon u will learn to hold it and get used to it it should not bite u at this point and if it does it either means u upset it or u just ate something and it thinks u r food. Do not be angry or drop the hamster if it bites becuz it is not the hamsters fault that hamsters have a very good sense of smell and very poor eyesight so be nice to it don't yell at it and it should not bite u r most likely to get a hamster that does not bite as much if u get a male my friends female was biting and it still bites so my friend has to hold it a different way witch doesnt look so comfortable for the hamster so its best u get a male and make sure its healthy besides hamster bites don't hurt much so u will be okay just don't hurt the hamster
by another hamster owner who has a hamster that does not bite but did at first
