E-gunparts is where I'd look. I have ordered Enfield parts from them before, so they do carry them.

Are you looking for a magizine or clips? They ARE NOT the same. A clip is a cheap disposible piece of sheet metal the holds 5 rounds and is used to load or "charge" the magizine. The magazine.is the ammunation resevour.

You have a Short, Magizine, Lee Enfiled, Mark III. Under the bolt handle, the stock socket is stamped "Sht M.L.E. III*" After 1926, the Brits called this rifle the No.1 rifle. BEWARE - the magizines of the No.1 and No.'s 4/5 rifles ARE NOT interchangaable. The clips, however will work in all of the Lees.

Weapons from World War 1?

The German infantry soldier generally used the Gewehr 98. This was an 8x57mm, bolt action rifle with a five-round clip. German machine gunners used the Maxim gun, which was a water-cooled machine gun. The British used the Lee Enfield .303 calibre bolt action rifle and the vickers and Lewis machine guns.

What did the Ohio Army National Guard not use in dealing with student's Vietnam protests at Kent State in May 1970?

The Ohio National Guard did not use rubber bullets at Kent State in May 1970, nor good judgment and restraint. They reacted. The Ohio Army National Guard originally deployed CS gas (riot gas), then reverted to their M1 Garand rifles when the bricks and rocks began impacting amongst the troops. Rocks and bricks are deadly weapons, in ancient times "being stoned to death" was standard procedures for executions. Those men had the right to defend themselves with deadly force. Their marksmanship may have been brought into question regarding the targets that they hit, but that was a different issue. The M1 Garand was a WWII and Korean War US rifle; a 30-06 semi-automatic weapon that fired an 8 round clip, not a magazine but clip...that flew out of the weapon with the 8th shot. Then a fresh fully loaded 8 round clip was reloaded. The ejected 8th empty shell casing with its accompanying empty steel clip made a loud metallic clanking noise as it ejected and flew through the air; this was the noise that the enemy in the Korean War listened to...indicating that the US serviceman's rifle was empty and needed reloading...which signaled the enemy (in Korea) that that was a good time to make an assault (to make a "charge"). Just part of the reason why the US Army went to the M14 rifle in 1957, which of course was replaced by the M16 in the 1970s. The M14 rifle was as .308 round (7.62mm), the M16 is a .223 round (5.56mm).

Rifle a us World War 2 soilder carry?

The standard US rifle of WWII was the M-1 "Garand" rifle. Garand was one of the designers. This was a semi-automatic rifle, fed by eight-shot clips of cartridges. It could fire eight times as fast as the trigger could be pulled. After the last shot, the rifle automatically ejected the empty clip, and the bolt remained open so a new clip could be inserted. Once the soldier inserted the fresh clip he had to get his thumb out of the way, because the bolt would automatically travel forward and pick up and chamber the first round of the new clip, so he was ready to start shooting again immediately. This was a far better rifle than that of any other combatant nation. All other nations fought WWII with the same rifle they had used to fight WWI. Most of these were five-shot, bolt action rifles, loaded with stripper clips. This loading process took much longer, and the bolt had to be worked manually, by hand, in between each shot to eject the empty cartridge and chamber the next one. This caused the soldier to lose his point of aim, a problem solved by the M-1. The M-1 was simple, rugged and reliable and fired a very high-powered round. It could be disassembled for cleaning very easily with the one thing a rifleman was likely to have - the point of one of its own cartridges. The US worked for twenty years between the world wars to develop the M-1. The Germans had far better machine guns, but the average American soldier had the best rifle. The Germans did develop the Sturm Gewehr 43, the world's first assault rifle and the father of the Russian AK-47, but relatively few of their troops were ever equipped with this excellent weapon.

Why is a gun' clip' also referred to as magazine?

While some people use the terms interchangeably, the proper term IS magazine, Magazine comes from a French word for storage. A clip holds cartridges, so that they may be quickly loaded INTO the magazine. Example- an AR 15 rifle may have ammunition loaded in 10 round "clips". The cartridges are pushed from the clip into the magazine. The MAGAZINE is then loaded into the rifle. However, some rifles, such as the M1 Garand, used an "en bloc" clip. This held the cartridges, and the entire clip was inserted into the rifle magazine. Confused now?
