Follow the red wire from the battery and it will go to the starter.. Be sure and disconnect the red (positive) wire from the battery before attempting to remove the starter..Remove the bolts holding starter to the motor and remove the wires to have it totally uninstalled. Take it to your parts store and they can test the starter to make sure it is faulty. The starter is located under the intake manifold. Remove:top cover,front spark plug wires,injector wires, all hoses going to throttle body, fuel injector rail (leave injectors attached to rail), intake manifold and throttle body (as one piece). starter is between the cylinder banks (2bolts)

THE STARTER IS LOCATED ON THE DRIVER SIDE NEAR THE BOTTOM LEFT FENDER.ITS MOUNTED NEAR THE BOTTOM CORNER OF THE RADIATOR. The starter on my 1998 Aurora is located under the intake manifold, ON TOP OF THE ENGINE. I had to replace it last year, and it took me a while to find a mechanic who actually knew where to find it.

THE STARTER IS LOCATED UNDER THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY AND LINKAGE, FUEL RAIL AND INTAKE BOLTS. WILL NEED NEW INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET SET, 2 PIECES AND I SUGGEST NEW O-RINGS FOR THE INJECTORS. MAKE SURE THE BATTERY IS DISCONNECTED FIRST.
