not much you can do to make it lighter, other than running with less gas in the tank, if your looking for better mileage, you want to make sure your truck is maintained, tune ups and such, switch fluids to synthetics, make sure tires are properly inflated, and some tire shops can put nitrogen in your tires, supposed to help mileage? the rest is mostly changing driving habits, try to reduce idling and shut truck off if at a light more than ten seconds. accelerate and brake smoothly, and drive at or near posted speeds, i drive my new Chevy van like a grandpa and still only get 10.5mpg so i feel your pain
Yes. Alloy wheels are supposed to improve the gas mileage due to its low weight.

Gas mileage decreases as the weight of the car increases and vice versa.
weight of oil is lighter than water
Practicing running each day can help improve you speed and endurance. Wearing lighter weight or thin clothes are easier to run in and reduce friction.
Fiberglass is lighter, AND stronger.
That depends on the actual condition of the engine and where you live. If it has little to no wear and still has high compression, the manufacturer's recommendation is probably still best. A lighter weight 5W30 would provide less friction and probably higher gas mileage. If the car is starting to show some signs of wear, like low compression, then a slightly higher weight 20W40 or 20 W50 for summer use, but still a lighter weight in winter. Some manufacturers now recommend synthetic oil, mostly for the lower friction and possibly less wear in the engine, so that is another consideration.
