You will have to drill out the rivets. When reinstalling you can use bolts and nuts if you don't have rivets.

If they are riveted your only option would be to replace the rivets in many cases. If you have a rivet gun you can try to use it restore the rivets to their seatings.

Its not a real hard job if you have done one before. You can drill out the 3 rivets on it or you can replace the lower control arm. $40 bucks or $80 bucks...your choice(cheaper on eBay). Easier to replace the control arm. If you replace the ball joint,buy the better one of the bunch. autozone.com has online repair manual's or just pick one up at a parts store, you will need it later....trust me.
