Two ways to reset the CEL: (1) disconnect the negative battery terminal for a couple of minutes - trouble with this is you will lose preset stereo stations, time on clock, and other memory-held items, possibly even causing the engine to run rough for a few miles while the computer re-learns. (2) you can take the vehicle to Auto Zone and have the dignostic codes retrieved and the light reset for free.
