How can you stop poaching?

You could report any suspicious activity you see to Fish and Game. Other than that there's nothing else you can do.

Use cheap trail cam's in places that poachers are likely to shoot from if you are trying to protect a specific area.

If your trying to drive off road "hunters". Simply take a camera and follow them. They are allowed to drive on public roads but so are you as long as you follow traffic laws. After you prevent them from shooting a few times they generaly go find less protected areas.

Either way photos or video's of them tresspassing or shooting from the road need to include a timestamp and identifyable features.

Unfortunately. Absolutely nothing.

As long as there is something to be gotten by killing an animal, there will always be poaching. If not for souvenirs then Chinese hocus-pocus medicine such as tiger soup for the sake of an aphrodisiac. Even when these are abolished (which they won't be) it will come down to the most primal reason. "I killed the elephant for food."

Sad truth but it's the way of the world, human nature and the way it will always be.

Truth be told, there is one way to stop poaching... Extinction.

Actually, quite a bit can be done to stop poaching, but it needs to be done by the land owner. If I was a land owner and there were poachers on there, I'll be out waiting for them, and I will have no less than two guns on me. I will say no more.

Simple, shoot the poachers. When the message gets out that poachers will be shot on sight, I bet the numbers will go down. Heck I've shot at people trying to shoot my family's animals at our farm back in the day. Didn't shoot to kill, but it got their attention real fast.

hunting should be stopped all around the world. we should not destroy forests because it makes the animal to run away and the people will easily hunt it . government should also take proper actions and punish strictly those who hunt.

Anyway, stopping elaphant poaching. Well, there is a lot of protection for elephants! So, luckily, your not alone! =D

Now, it depends on where you live. Noramlly, elephants live in Africa or India and Asia. And in Africa, people ride around in trucks shooting poachers and leaving them there for the animals to eat, or torturing the poacher before killing them. In India they put the criminals in jail for life, or shoot them on spot as well. But Asia... I would focus on Japan.

Japan is the World Capitol of pollution and also poaching. Every year, elephants are killed there along with sharks and dolphins just for ONE body part. Many people riot and rally against this! =)

So, you could join an organization to send money to the people there trying to stop elephant poaching! And get the word out! At your school or community suggest a day to collect money, and get peole happy and fired up about helping to save animals that being poached!

The fees that go for hunting and hunting organizations do more to stop poaching than any anti hunting group and organization combined.
