if you turn your key and nothing happens just the dashboard lights come on that would be your clutch start switch. if you hear a grinding sound when trying to start vehicle or a humming sound that would be your starter.if the vehicle cranks fine but for some reason it won't start then you would look at the ignition system(spark plugs, wires, etc) as your first possible cause.
its either the starter or your ignition
Yes. Starter, fuel, ignition, computer, etc.Yes. Starter, fuel, ignition, computer, etc.
It depends if the starter is turning the engine over and its not starting the problem is not with the starter its with your ignition or fuel system most likely, If your start is making a whirring sound then its not making contact with the flywheel and you probably need a new starter
The actual problem is the starter continues to turn after key is turned off and pulled out of ignition.
Ignition switch, battery, battery cables, starter relay, starter solnoid, starter, flywheel ring gear.
If you battery has plenty of power, either faulty contacts in ignition switch or starter motor, or faulty starter motor.
flat battery, bad starter motor, bad solenoid for starter, a fuse on ignition side or a bad ignition switch, if is automatic transmission, make sure it is in park properly,or try it in neutral if manuel transmission ,push clutch in
You have to ascertain if it is 'turning over' - if so the starter is OK. -Next if it fires at all and if so but does not go steadily there may be a fuel problem. If it does not fire or even cough then there is an ignition problem.
Try diagnosing the starter
Bad starter, bad starter solenoid, or the problem might not be the starter at all.
No. The problem lies in the starter itself. Replace the starter and the vehicle will start....
NO, there is no coalition between the ignition switch and the transmission. The ignition switch does 2 things. Turns on power to the electrical system for the engine and supplies power to the starter during start-up.
